Interview
EW's Mike Ausiello did a new interview with Lauren, the first one after she signed on "Parenthood".
quote:
The thing that was most important to me is to have a writer who I feel can really write something that I’m dying to do, ’cause that’s what I had last time. And this is how that felt to me. So whether or not it seems like the logical next step, I just really responded to the material and that’s where I had good luck last time. [When I considered doing Gilmore], people were like, “Oh, it’s the WB” and “Oh, you’re playing a mom.” I’ve had good luck just following my instincts.
As you may have noticed, we changed the website a bit in the last hours. You can now see the latest images which are added to the gallery. We also created a facebook page for the website where you can talk about the latest projects and pics of Lauren or discuss whatever you want - Lauren related of course. We hope you'll enjoy it. You can find a link on the sidebar.
NBC sources confirm to HitFix that Lauren Graham officially returning to primetime as one of the stars of the midseason dramedy "Parenthood."
The news of Graham's potential involvement was reported earlier in the week by the industry trades and by Michael Ausiello of EW, who said she was negotiating to take the role played by Maura Tierney in the original pilot.
We resisted the urge to report the rumor at the time, just as we resisted reporting the rumor of the network's desire to woo Helen Hunt, which ended up going nowhere. However, with Graham's deal apparently signed, sealed and delivered, we're pleased to welcome our favorite "Gilmore Girl" back to the small screen.
NBC says that "Parenthood" will return to production in mid-November and that only the scenes featuring Graham's character will be reshot for the revised pilot.
Lauren Graham has filled the vacancy in the cast of the NBC dramedy "Parenthood."
Graham will fill the role originally played in the pilot by Maura Tierney, who was forced to drop out of the show because of health issues.
The Imagine TV/Universal Media Studios dramedy, based on the 1989 film of the same name, revolves around a large family in Northern California. NBC pushed the project to a post-winter Olympics midseason start after Tierney's illness delayed production.
Jason Katims penned the "Parenthood" pilot and is exec producing with Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and David Nevins.
